The Kingmaker

A new look at New Labour. A bitter Jacobean power struggle: in the war between North and South, King John’s northern forces are no match for Queen Marguerita until Peter, the Kingmaker, persuades heir-apparent, Prince Gordon, to enlist the aid of charming Prince Anthony. All goes well until, to Gordon’s fury, Anthony ascends the throne and enters into a rash Crusade….

This satirical musical by Bill Robinson (former Special Adviser to a Chancellor of the Exchequer) is a timeless tale of friendship and betrayal at the highest level. Any resemblance to modern British politics is, of course, entirely deliberate.
